- Always working safely, e.g. isolating machinery, erecting guards etc.
- Making personnel aware of any work starting or any other issues via shift supervisors and or others, as necessary.
- Responding quickly to production machine issues as they arise.
- Ensuring factory/machines/site remain safe to use or be around.
- Checking and maintaining machine safety devices, fire/smoke alarms and exits etc. at fixed intervals.
- Isolating any machinery/areas in an unsafe condition.
- Monitoring/rectifying/reporting machine or equipment access issues, e.g. guarding, steps, sensors.
- Planning, undertaking and recording maintenance to minimise output disruption.
- Planning any preventative maintenance with the works manager and supervisors minimise loss in production time.
- Controlling/monitoring the work of third parties/visitors, including experience and competence, to maintain personnel/visitor safety.
- Planning and ensuring relevant H&S requirements and quality (BRC) checks are undertaken on time.
- Keeping an organised, well laid-out and tidy workshop, equipment.
- Always wearing the correct PPE for the job and use equipment in a safe manner (e.g. air).
- Electrically trained and qualified to
- Mechanical engineering experience
- General experience (including controllers/panels etc) of single and three phase motors, inverters and AC drives, DC drives, heater and cooling controls and PAT testing
- Living within 30-minutes of Bingley.
