Catch 22 are working with an Estates & Facilities NHS Healthcare Provider in the Bradford area who are seeking an experienced fire safety professional looking to make a difference in healthcare. The Fire Safety Manager will lead critical fire safety initiatives, ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. This leadership role in the Estates Department offers the opportunity to drive compliance, innovation, and excellence in fire safety management across a diverse healthcare setting.

This is an onsite role, paying a competitive salary.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a Trust-wide fire safety management system and strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation through audits, risk assessments, and action plans.
  • Provide advice and training on fire safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including local fire services and health and safety authorities.
  • Lead investigations of fire incidents and unwanted fire signals, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Oversee fire drills, safety equipment maintenance, and compliance monitoring.
  • Prepare and present fire safety reports to Executive Committees and the Trust Board.

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant qualifications Master's degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Specialist fire safety qualifications, such as NEBOSH National Certificate Fire Safety or CFPA Diploma + Membership in a relevant professional body, such as the IFE (Institute of Fire Engineers) is desirable.
  • Extensive experience in fire safety management and conducting risk assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of fire legislation, risk management techniques, and healthcare fire safety codes (e.g., HTMs).
  • Leadership skills with experience managing and training teams - ILM qualification would be desirable.
