Control Systems Engineer – Greater Manchester – Permanent – Hybrid - Motion/Servo Control - £50-55k + overtime

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Control System Engineer to join a specialist systems integrator that specialises in motion control and variable speed drives for special purpose machinery.

Key aspects of the Control Systems Engineer role include –

  • Company has an excellent reputation and punches about its weight in terms of its size Vs the variety and complexity of the work they deliver
  • The don’t need you in the office if you don’t need to be there – they ask you’re there for key project review meetings or FATs etc.
  • Knowledge of motion control, servo control and variable speed drives is key – all their projects have elements of these involved
  • Design PLC control systems using, robots, AC inverter & servo drives (ideally have Mitsubishi experience)
  • You’ll create customised PLC, motion control HMI programs
  • Creation of Functional Design Specifications (FDS) for projects
  • Successful Control System Engineer will design vision systems for pick and place robotic applications
  • Attend site to commission and service equipment – a lot of the site will be based in the North West with UK site work involved further afield. Controls Manager estimates about 15% of your time will be spent on site – often being able to get home on an evening.
  • UK driving licence – essential

The office work is commutable from most of Manchester and the surrounding areas including places such as Stockport, Heywood, Rochdale, Ashton-under-Lyne, Huddersfield, Halifax, Haslingden, Accrington, Todmorden, Oldham and Bolton.
