We are working on behalf of our client, an established engineering firm, in their search for a skilled Manual Machinist. The company is renowned for manufacturing a wide variety of metal products for the waste industry and utilities sector. They offer a 24-hour repair service, so some overtime will be required.
Details:
- Monday to Friday 8am4pm
- 25 days holiday
- OT paid at time and a third or double time
- Pension Employee 3% / Employer 6%
Responsibilities:
- Setting and operating manual lathes, turners, milling machines, and vertical borers.
- Performing tool changes.
- Reading and working from engineering drawings.
- Repairing and refurbishing a wide range of mechanical parts.
- Working to tight tolerances.
- Producing bespoke parts for various industry sectors.
Requirements:
- HNC/NVQ/City and Guilds in Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Fully trained in the use of manual lathe turners
- Ability to operate manual machines
- Experience in repairs and refurbishments
