Swift Placements are supporting our client based in Birkenhead recruit an Assistant Practice Manager to join them on a full time permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a law firm and have exposure to all aspects of HR, Facilities and Payroll.

Responsibilities

  • Managing day to day operations of the Practice reporting to the Partners.
  • Handling all aspects of HR including recruitment, onboarding, training, appraisals, payroll.
  • Financial month end and bank reconciliations and VAT returns.
  • Managing facilities such as office maintenance, IT/systems usage.
  • Reviewing policies and procedures in line with new legislations and accreditations.
  • Reviewing client satisfaction questionnaires to identify any trends/areas for improvement.
  • Undertaking file reviews to identify weaknesses and training issues.
  • Marketing and negotiating to achieve savings
  • Updating and adding forms and precedents for the firms case management system.
  • Fee earner and cost reviews.
  • Renewal of accreditations and Practising Certificates.
  • Assisting with firm audits.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Previous experience managing teams and operations.
  • Previous experience within the legal sector is preferred.
  • Strong financial knowledge.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages.
  • Proactive and good organisational skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
