We are working with a thriving and welcoming, Ofsted rated ‘Good’, primary school located in the Bebington area, Wirral, who are committed to providing high-quality education and a nurturing environment for their students.  They are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team and cover PPA across Key Stages 1 and 2 on a full-time basis starting ASAP.

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the school, delivering high-quality lessons and supporting the pupils' learning and development.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the HLTA qualification or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain invaluable experience across both KS1 and KS2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cover PPA sessions for class teachers, delivering pre-planned lessons across KS1 and KS2.
  • Support the teaching and learning process, ensuring a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist in the assessment and recording of pupil progress.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and other support staff to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Contribute to the planning and preparation of learning activities.
  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups, as required.

Requirements:

The desired Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have;

  • HLTA qualification or status, or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain experience.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum across KS1 and KS2.
    • Proven experience working in a primary school setting.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting high standards of achievement.
    • Have, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
