We are looking for an Accomodations Assistant to join the team of a well-established housing organisation in the Birmingham area. This role is offering a temporary position, helping to assist with the prevention of homelessness.

Accomodations Assistant

Monday to Friday

Birmingham, B37

Temporary - 3 months plus

21-23ph via umbrella

As an Accomodations Assistant you will be:

  • Proactive in prevention of homelessness and will support customers through the range of housing options available to them.
  • Help conduct home visits to verify homelessness
  • Securing temporary accommodation for homeless persons. This will involve liaising and negotiating with accommodation providers to secure a provision for the homeless persons.
  • Preparing and serving of notices to quit to those customers in temporary accommodation where we are seeking possession.
  • Providing support on the provision of temporary accommodation
  • Complete licence agreements with prospective occupants and ensure housing benefit applications are registered online to maximise our income generation.

To be successful as an Accomodations Assistant, you will have previous experience in:

  • Working within social housing, specifically in a housing options or homelessness prevention team
  • Dealing with tenants to prevent homelessness
  • Ability to communicate effectively via written and verbal communication
