Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant for a business based in the Birmingham area. This role offers great exposure in a growing business, working closely with the Financial Accountant you will gain invaluable experience and the opportunity to further your career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing accruals, prepayments, depreciation and monthly & year end journals
  • Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, including postings and account reconciliations
  • Reporting on debtors and creditors and delivering and dealing with invoice queries/disputes
  • Completing Balance sheet, Control Accounts, Bank & Company Credit Cards reconciliations on monthly basis
  • Management of fixed asset register.
  • Processing of credit card statements and employee expenses.
  • Reviewing & Submitting VAT and annual returns, reconciling to the accounting system
  • Management of client accounts.
  • Assist with the yearend process and liaise with external auditors
  • Other Adhoc tasks as required.

Essential requirements:

  • Studying a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role (1-2 years)
