ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT - 30-35Kpa - BIRMINGHAM - HYBRID 3 DAYS WFH - PERM

The Assistant Management Accountant role focusses on all areas of financial management and reporting within the corporate function. This role is to educate and competently challenge the corporate functions regarding commercial awareness and business appraisal, ensuring delivery in all areas of the profit and loss account. This analyst will provide proactive support to the Lead Finance Analyst and Finance Manager in all areas of planning, forecasting and management reporting as well as working in partnership with the corporate functions to improve costs, revenue or service in order to maximise financial efficiency.

  • Assist in the provision of timely and accurate period-end reporting for the production of period end journals, SAP BPC reporting, variance analysis and commentary.

  • Provide timely and accurate departmental reporting with relevant commentary to support variances against budget and outturn.

  • Assist with the business forecasting and planning process in delivering business objectives for the corporate functions, including development of action plans, monitoring of progress and identification of corrective action.

  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations on a periodic basis to ensure all assets and liabilities are accurately recorded.

  • Maintain procedures and systems of internal control to ensure safe stewardship and custody of assets and maintain the integrity of the associated financial records.

  • Work in partnership with the corporate function to educate and support, thus ensuring achievement of business objectives and financial targets.

  • Be an integral member of the corporate finance team, creating a climate of openness, mutual respect and trust. Assist in delivering the team's priorities and fit the vision and strategic focus of the business.

  • Proactively challenge the management of financial and business risks and opportunities where appropriate.

  • Provide support to the Lead Finance Analyst and the Finance Manager in ad-hoc reporting and analysis in an accurate and timely manner to achieve business objectives.
