Job Purpose
  • Preparation and finalisation of accounts for owner managed businesses, including Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited companies
  • Preparation of business tax computations for the same portfolio
  • Review of VAT returns prepared by the client
  • Leading audits for Limited companies
  • Producing draft financial statements
  • Supervising junior staff, including reviewing work and sharing skills
  • Build trusted client relationships as their main point of contact, proactively handling queries
  • Champion your own professional development, undertaking training opportunities
  • Work directly with Managers, Directors and Partners to ensure expectations, deadlines, and budgets are being met
  • Oversee on-site work and perform accounting, auditing and computer functions

The Successful Applicant
  • ACA or ACCA qualified or part qualified with previous experience in practice
  • AAT and QBE qualified, studying towards ACA/ACCA, or with a desire to begin study also considered
  • Study support can be provided for the right candidate
  • At least 2 years’ experience leading audits from planning to completion
  • Adept at the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Experience using Xero, Quickbooks and Microsoft Office applications
  • A hands-on team player who can also work autonomously
  • Excellent work ethic, self-motivated, and reliable
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and third parties
  • Good awareness of current affairs and solid commercial acumen
