An opportunity to be a Commercial Financial Controller for a large electronics manufacturing international company based in Aston, with strong growth potential and a heavy commitment to employee culture. As a Financial Controller, you will work closely with plant management, acting as a key business partner to ensure critical performance metrics are met. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a growing and impactful finance team that operates across the entire group.

Main Duties:

As a Commercial Financial Controller, your main duties include:

  • Act as an integral part of the Finance and Management team, providing financial support and control to the plant.
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of corporate and internal reporting, ensuring adherence to deadlines, financial accuracy, and completeness.
  • Oversee and complete month-end processes, including variance analysis.
  • Report on plant performance (actuals, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis) using financial systems.
  • Prepare and present budgets and forecasts for profit and loss, cash flow, and the balance sheet.
  • Manage and lead the local Finance team.
  • Oversee key KPIs such as Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ageing, driving improvements and efficiencies.
  • Lead continuous improvements to financial controls and other operational processes.
  • Handle reporting for judgemental reserves, accrued liabilities, and SOX testing reviews, presenting findings to senior finance leadership.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and reviews.
  • Calculate and provide for warranty exposure.
  • Perform product profitability analysis and reviews.
  • Work closely with external auditors for year-end and interim audits, as well as internal audit reviews.
  • Review and sign off on headcount.
  • Review, maintain, and implement internal controls, including quarterly SOX testing.
  • Develop direct reports, supporting both their personal and professional development, and contribute to succession planning.
  • Manage two annual stocktakes.
  • Carry out ad hoc tasks as required.
