Key Responsibilities:

Cost Tracking & Analysis: Monitor and analyse production costs, including labor, materials, and overheads. Prepare cost estimates for new projects or products and assess profitability. Maintain cost records and track variances from standard costs.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and cost forecasts. Review and update cost forecasts periodically, based on actual performance and market changes.

Cost Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on cost analysis and performance. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on cost variances, production costs, and efficiency. Provide recommendations for cost reduction or operational improvements.

Inventory Management: Support the inventory valuation process and ensure accurate recording of cost of goods sold (COGS). Analyse inventory levels and assist with inventory reconciliation.

Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team to ensure proper financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and cost-saving initiatives. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Stay updated on industry best practices in cost accounting and contribute to efficiency improvements.

Qualifications: Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
