Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a part-time Finance and Administration Officer working on a 18.75 hour contract in Birmingham. You will be doing 6.25 hours a day over 3 days (Mondays & Thursdays other day to be decided). This is a 12 month contract.

The salary for this role is 16,000

Two satisfactory references and a Basic DBS check are required if successful in this position.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Account reconciliations on the Xero accountancy platform.
  • Paying invoices and expenses, raising invoices / chasing payments
  • Filing receipts, invoices, and payment remittances
  • Producing funding application budgets. Budget monitoring and forecasting across all income streams.
  • Reporting to the board on finances and fund raising. Providing financial reports to funders
  • Attending funding interviews with grant makers and providing financial information.
  • Year End Accounts - assisting the accountants with all aspects of year end account work and input into the annual report.
  • Managing office operations and administrative support
  • Maintaining filing systems and document control.
  • Handling office correspondence and communication.
  • Coordinating meetings and taking minutes, both internally and externally.


What we're looking for

  • Experience in accounts/bookkeeping, preferably using the Xero accountancy platform or similar.
  • Experience producing budgets and budget forecasts.
  • Experience of working with spreadsheets, sometimes complex.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
