Alexander Daniels are looking to source a Financial Accountant specialising in Fixed Assets to join a well established business in Birmingham. This permanent role offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility while ensuring robust financial management and adherence to accounting standards. The successful candidate will be integral in managing the fixed asset register, CAPEX processes, and providing insightful financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain fixed asset register accuracy and compliance, investigate obsolescence, and ensure proper recording of capital items.
- Produce accurate monthly reconciliations and ensure relevant reporting of leases.
- Timely record fixed asset transactions and conduct monthly general ledger reconciliations.
- Generate statutory reports summarising movements in fixed assets including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Liaise with CAPEX owners for budget preparation and submit monthly forecasts with variance analysis.
- Prepare audit schedules related to fixed assets and assist during audits.
- Contribute to month-end reporting processes ensuring adherence to policies.
Experience Required:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance; studying towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualifications necessary.
- Demonstrated experience in fixed assets management, strong technical accounting knowledge especially around leases.
- Proficiency in Dynamics 365 (desirable), advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills for clear financial information delivery to diverse stakeholders.
