Due to expansion and internal progression, I’m working on a brilliant position for a newly qualified Accountant to join a leading international business as a Financial Accountant reporting directly into the Financial Controller. The position is based in Birmingham City Centre with a hybrid working model.
You will be part of an ambitious team who are always looking to progress and push the business forward into different areas of the market. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting business growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts, working alongside the Financial Controller
- Completion of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts on a monthly basis
- Maintenance of the balance sheet, including monthly review of all reconciliations and identification of any areas of risk or concern
- Support the business in financial decision-making and identifying areas for process improvement across the finance function
Key requirements:
- Newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) looking for your first move from practice or with relevant industry experience
- Strong technical accounting skills with experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate to other areas of the business
