Our client is a well-established and successful manufacturer with big plans for 2025 and the future. They are looking for an experienced Financial Controller / Finance Controller to join their team.

The Financial Controller role involves taking on all aspects of financial management for the company Solutions. You will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial management accounting information for the company board, thereby assisting the decision making of the company.

Requirements:

•    Fully qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
•    5 years’ experience in financial operations, whether as a finance officer, controller or other relevant roles
•    Excellent knowledge of core accounting processes, data analysis and forecasting methods
•    Experienced use of Sage
•    Advanced Excel knowledge 
•    Good communication and presentation skills
•    Strong organisation skills, attention to detail and commitment to excellence
•    Ideally experience of a manufacturing/industrial environment

Responsibilities:

•    Prepare monthly management accounts pack for several of the group’s companies
•    Oversee monthly payroll for approximately 60 employees including administration of company pension scheme
•    Line management of Accounts Administrator, overseeing both sales and purchase ledger activity including supplier payment runs
•    Regular financial reporting (KPIs, business analytics, cashflow) working closely with the senior management team to set deadlines
•    Bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and ad hoc reporting
•    Quarterly VAT return submissions
•    Annual budget preparation, financial forecasting and planning
•    Effective cashflow management and reporting
•    Establish accounting controls, systems and processes
•    Assisting with stock control, customs queries and collaborating with other departments to improve processes across the business
•    Examine financial reports to ensure accurate financial records
•    Production of annual audit and statutory accounts for filing at Companies House in collaboration with external accountants
•    Preparation of R&D tax claims
•    Main point of contact for all banking and compliance with accounting regulations
•    Work with management team to identify and target efficiencies

Hours of work:  Monday to Thursday, 34 hours flexible working week. Start time between 7.00am and 8.30am, latest finish is 5.00pm (8.5 hours per day), one day a week can be working from home)

Salary: £45,000 per year
