Trinity House Group are supporting a fast-growing, private equity-backed business in Birmingham in their search for a commercially focused and technically strong Financial Controller. This is a pivotal role as the business embarks on its next stage of growth, and they’re looking for someone who can help shape their financial future.
Role
You’ll be working closely with an impressive CFO and wider SLT, acting as a key finance leader within the business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the balance of financial rigour and commercial challenge—you’ll be hands-on in the detail but also contributing to strategic decisions at board level.
This is more than just reporting, bringing clarity to financial performance and ensuring the business is primed for scalable, sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities;
- Lead the finance function, overseeing month-end, statutory reporting, and compliance.
- Work closely with PE stakeholders—prepare insightful MI, KPIs, and board packs.
- Support the CFO with budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.
- Develop and mentor a small finance team.
- Drive process improvement and implement scalable financial systems.
- Partner across the business to ensure financial performance is aligned with growth objectives.
About You
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
- Previous experience in a PE-backed, high-growth, or fast-paced SME environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with an eye for detail and ability to challenge.
- Hands-on approach—happy rolling up sleeves while thinking strategically.
- Confident communicator with experience working closely with senior stakeholders and boards.
