SF Recruitment are currently working with a fantastic public sector body in the recruitment of an Interim Financial Controller on a 12-month FTC basis.

The role reports into the Director of Finance and Procurement and is and integral part of the finance team. This is a fantastic role within a supportive and progressive organisation who are committed to employee development.
- Support the production of the Annual Report and Accounts.
- Provide capital accounting support to the Financial Controller
- Develop and implement an improved control framework using best practice experience and knowledge, and fulfilling audit recommendations
- Work with the Finance System team to identify system reports to be developed and implemented.
- Produce/review/publish of data returns, identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Oversee preparation of VAT returns and associated reconciliations, identifying process improvements.
- Oversee preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying process improvements.
- Review and update policies e.g. accounting policies, fraud, expenses
- Work with the finance Business Partnering and Systems teams to foster good connections across the finance team and achieve effective working practices.
- Represent the Head of Finance and/or Director in their absence.
- Embrace continuous improvement tools and techniques to help modernise the finance function fit for the future.
