Stanton House is currently recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant to join a PE-backed Retail Business in Birmingham on a 4-month Fixed-Term Contract (with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate). The role offers a salary of £60,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience) and there may be additional benefits. This is a hybrid role, working 3 days in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Management Accountants to ensure timely and accurate internal and external reporting for the businesses, including management accounts, KPIs, and presentations of group and divisional results.
- Prepare consolidated Group management accounts, performance schedules, and variance analysis, providing insightful commentary for key stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Coordinate monthly management accounts and reports across all divisions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and adherence to strict deadlines.
- Support Finance Business Partners in preparing executive presentations, while driving improvements in management information and fostering strong business partnering.
- Maintain the Oracle General Ledger, overseeing the chart of accounts, hierarchies, and system updates, and manage stock and debt reporting processes.
- Provide training to non-financial managers on understanding management accounts and performance, while mentoring team members and promoting collaboration across functions.
- Assist with statutory reporting, liaise with external auditors, and contribute to projects, ad-hoc tasks, and the development of group-wide management information.
To be suitable for this role you must have the following:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong attention to detail, commitment, and integrity.

- Skilled in leading, developing, and managing teams.

- Approachable with a focus on systems analysis, reporting, and effective self-presentation.
