About the Business

An opportunity to be a Management Accountant for an outsourcing business based in Birmingham. The organisation operates nationally and strives to be a market leader in their industry.

Main Duties:

As a Management Accountant, your main duties include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Production of weekly sales reports, staff utilisation reports and aged debt reports
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly payroll for processing
  • Preparation of weekly supplier payments
  • Analysis of variances against budgets and forecasts
  • Supporting the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Ensuring that financial data is timely, accurate, and relevant for decision-making
  • Conducting detailed cost analysis
  • Monitoring capital expenditures and ensuring they align with budgeted expectations
  • Ensuring compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Assisting in the preparation of tax returns, including VAT and corporation tax.
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Location / Office / Culture

The role is based in Birmingham, and operates on flexible working patterns. The company operates from a modern office with a strong Finance Team.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least three years’ experience in management accounting or a similar finance role.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel at an advanced level
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a critical thinking mindset
