Our client is seeking a Management Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Birmingham. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of contracts within a fast-paced environment. What you'll do:

As a Management Accountant, your role will be pivotal in managing a portfolio of contracts with varying types and sizes. You will be responsible for partnering with key stakeholders, both financial and non-financial, ensuring robust commercial and operational decision-making processes are in place. Your ability to deliver proactive ad-hoc financial analysis will be crucial in supporting business unit decision making. You will also take responsibility for understanding and highlighting the financial risks and opportunities arising from balance sheet maintenance.

  • Business partner key stakeholders ensuring strong commercial and operational decision making
  • Deliver proactive ad-hoc financial analysis to support business unit decision making
  • Understand and highlight the financial risks and opportunities arising from balance sheet maintenance
  • Conduct weekly forecasting analysis, identifying any risks and opportunities
  • Support operations at month end to close their accounts in line with expectations or explain any variances
  • Work with Regional Managers on contract retentions and renegotiations
  • Lead the Budgeting / Forecasting process for the area
  • Attend monthly regional business reviews alongside the Head of Operations

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Management Accountant role will bring a wealth of experience in management accounting, including accounting adjustments and producing reports/analysis to support commercial decision making. You should be actively studying towards finalising your CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification. Your analytical skills coupled with your high level of attention to detail will be essential in this role. Experience in business partnering non-finance professionals is crucial as you'll be supporting the delivery of sound financial information.

  • Actively studying finalist within CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Experience of management accounting inclusive of accounting adjustments, producing reports/analysis to support commercial decision making
  • Analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Experience of business partnering non-finance professionals to support the delivery of sound financial information
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Experience of SAP and Cognos as analysis and reporting tools
