Alexander Daniels are recruiting a Management Accountant for a business based in North Birmingham. This business is thriving within their industry, performing excellently and boasts ambitious growth plans. The successful candidate will be experienced within manufacturing, be able to work independently and drive efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and KPI's, including balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Assist in the preparation of the year end accounts for audit.
  • Assist in the annual budget process, producing reports to assist managers in preparation of their departmental budget.
  • Analysing overheads, investigate variances versus the annual budget/forecast.
  • Analysing and evaluating job costs against the company's internal costing matrix, highlighting and reporting variances in a timely manner.
  • Guiding and assisting the transactional team and providing cover as and when necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly payroll.
  • Business partnering with Departmental Managers on projects and cost saving initiatives
  • Producing and submitting quarterly VAT returns.

The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a similar role and be working towards a professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA). A good level of Excel skills is also essential, Pivot tables & VLookups a minimum. Previous experience in a Manufacturing/ engineering environment would be preferred.

This role is office based and would require to reliably commute to the office location 5 days a week.
