We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team in Birmingham. This role is ideal for a professional who is adept at producing accurate company accounts and has experience in managing a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a range of accounting functions within a dynamic environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage and perform tasks including accruals, prepayments, and maintaining fixed asset registers along with calculating depreciation.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and handle audits firsthand.
  • Conduct control account reconciliations and manage journals.
  • Oversee year-end procedures and potentially handle aspects of payroll.
  • Ensure monthly company accounts are produced accurately and on time.
  • Lead and manage a team of 7-8 people within the accounts department, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
