Job Purpose

  • Support a varied client portfolio, working closely with the senior management team to ensure expectations and deadlines are met
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for Limited companies and Sole Traders
  • Preparation of accounts from core records, using FRS 105 and/or FRS 102
  • Review of accounts prepared by junior team members
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Filing accounts and ensuring accurate accounts are produced and submitted to Companies House on time
  • Liaise with clients, building trusted relationships and proactively handling queries.
  • Lead fieldwork at clients’ premises when required
  • Support junior staff, including reviewing work and supporting their professional development.
  • Identify new processes and ways to increase efficiency.
  • Research and interpret changes to taxation and accounting regulations.
  • Champion your own professional development, regularly undertaking training opportunities.

Job Requirements
  • AAT or ACCA/ACA qualified with a minimum of five years’ experience in UK practice
  • A proven track record of managing a client portfolio, including monitoring commercial aspects
  • Strong working knowledge of software, such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • Good IT skills
  • A team player who can also work autonomously
  • A can-do attitude to problem-solving
  • Self-motivated and able to manage your own deadlines and workflow
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
