Based in Birmingham, West Midlands our specialist client is looking for a Senior Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will be hybrid based with 3 days a week in the office.

This job would suit an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant, or equivalent experience within a multi-site business. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you'll manage a skilled team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of management accounts and reports.

The successful individual will have excellent commercial acumen, taking the time to understand business objectives and focusing on activity to yield the greatest commercial benefit. This person will have excellent team management experience. Solid understanding of financial and reporting systems is desirable, such as Oracle Financials and Tableau

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage the Management Accountants to ensure all internal and external reporting requirements are achieved to strict deadlines
  • Management accounts and associated schedules and KPI's
  • Management presentation of group and divisional results
  • Prepare the consolidated Group management accounts and associated performance schedules
  • Support the Finance Business Partners to produce the presentations in order to communicate results to the Executive team and Operations
  • Co-ordinate the Group's Management Accounts teams in producing and distributing monthly management accounts and management information for all divisions of the Group ensuring complete accuracy, compliance to accounting standards and adherence to strict timetables
  • Understand and provide variance analysis and commentary against budget and historical performance, including the use of KPI's to key stakeholders within the business
  • Support the Finance department and ensure the continuous improvement of management information and promote business partnering outside of Finance
  • Provide regular updates to the business for trends and variances to add value to the business decision-making process
  • Jointly responsible for maintenance of the Oracle General Ledger function including the chart of accounts, hierarchies and housekeeping
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory reporting requirements and liaise closely with the external audit team
  • Reconcile the group stock position and stock provisioning on a quarterly basis
  • Debt analysis and associated reporting with regular review of debt provisioning
  • Provide clarity, direction and development for team members and facilitate good relationships across all central functions and operations
  • Train non-financial managers to understand their management accounts and performance
  • Development and preparation of management information and supporting schedules for the Group
