Job Title: Service Charge AccountantLocation: BirminghamSalary: Up to £30,000 (Depending on experience and qualifications)Role Overview:Time Recruitment are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Service Charge Accountant to join our long-standing clients service charge team based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will work within a dedicated team, preparing and finalizing reconciliations of internally certified service charge accounts to the highest standard.Key Responsibilities:* Conduct full review of service charge expenditure, identify and correct posting errors, and post journal transfers, accruals, and prepayments as required.* Maintain the general ledger and complete reconciliations in line with the year-end for the service charge function, ensuring all imbalances are identified and corrected.* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accounts are completed accurately and meet accounts deadlines.* Produce balancing schedules to apportion service charge expenditure correctly, considering income billed on account, occupancy changes, and tenant caps.* Perform variance analysis and produce final reports for Property Managers' approval.* Reconcile prior agent information after new property purchases, ensuring compliance with sales contracts, and liaise with previous agents to resolve issues.* Manage the closure of final service charge reconciliations following property sales, providing closing accounts to the purchaser, resolving queries, and clearing all ledger balances.* Act as a key liaison with internal stakeholders on service charge matters, resolving tenant and client queries post-completion of service charge accounts.* Perform other ad hoc duties as required.* Develop and maintain active communication with colleagues and provide assistance to team members as needed.Key Requirements:* Experience working within Property Accounts and a solid understanding of service charges.* Excellent communication and attention to detail* Good time management skills with the ability to hit KPI's* Proficient in Excel and Word.Team Overview:You will be joining a dynamic team of seven, specialising in preparing and monitoring service charges across the regions, ensuring excellence in service delivery.The Offer:* Competitive salary up to £30,000 depending on experience and qualifications.* A supportive and collaborative team environment.* Opportunities for professional growth and development.Time Recruitment Solutions Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
