Fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Site Financial Controller to join an FMCG Manufacturing business based in Birmingham. This opportunity offers significant progression and growth options.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and challenge site spend for all direct costs or indirect costs.
  • Conduct monthly cost reviews with key budget holders and drive cost efficiencies within the business
  • Key variances to budget to be explained and YTD variances to be minimised by working in conjunction with budget holders
  • Develop the standard operations KPI pack for site weekly and monthly in conjunction with Business Improvement Manager and Site General Manager
  • Weekly review and reporting of the standard operations KPIs along with insightful commentary and explanations to any material or key variances to agreed targets
  • Monthly bridge of costs - actual vs budget and actual vs forecast for month and YTD as well as MoM with insightful commentary, highlighting any material or key variances and any corrective actions
  • Drive improvements in manufacturing performance alongside the site management team and Business Improvement Manager
  • Understand and challenge yield variances, throughput, staffing levels
  • Ensure work orders are reviewed for appropriateness in terms of inputs e.g. raw material goods issues, labour and machine hour time confirmations and outputs
  • Understand make vs buy trade-off with respect to costs or other considerations and ensure that these are clearly communicated to Site General Manager and Operations Finance Controller
  • Responsible for all product costs relating to site.
  • Monitoring and alignment of bill of materials (BOM)
  • Product costing for new product developments and introductions (NPD/NPI)
  • Work with site management to optimize and safeguard inventory e.g. processes to control inventory flow throughout factory and on-site warehouse, setting appropriate safety stock levels, sensible production plans in the context of current stock levels, planned downtime and historical/forecast sales etc.
  • Management of financial aspects of site CAPEX process through timely submission of capital projects, monthly tracking of cashflows and commissioning completed projects
  • Ensure all capital spend captured as CAPEX and not OPEX
  • Financial modelling scenarios - strategic and operational

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent
  • Previous experience in FMCG / Manufacturing environment
