We are delighted to be supporting the UK entity of an internationally-owned professional services group, headquartered in Birmingham, in the search for a Subsidiary Accountant.
This role is based in wonderful Birmingham city centre offices full time.
This is an exciting all-rounder role for a qualified accountant to look after all financial reporting, management accounting and business partnering for the UK entities. You will maintain a close working relationship with the UK operations as well as the European head office.
As the Subsidiary Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Full ownership of monthly P&L production and consolidation for various UK entities, and providing monthly management reporting and analysis to the parent group
- Production of interim and year end statutory accounts for the UK entities, and preparing for external audit
- Liaising with external auditors as a key point of contact throughout the audit process
- Supporting the UK Finance Director with FP&A duties, including annual budget setting and monthly cash flow analysis, forecasting and reforecasting
- Approving month end journals, including accruals and prepayments, as prepared by the Assistant Accountant
- Continuous improvement of reporting processes and implementing financial controls in line with UK GAAP, IFRS and other requirements of the parent group
- Supporting various ongoing projects including implementation of a new operational system, and future acquisitions (plus integrating newly-acquired businesses into the UK group)
- Working with business partners across finance, commercial and operations to communicate financials and strategise business plans, enacting change
- Supporting the ongoing development of juniors in the UK finance team
The ideal candidate for this role will be fully ICAEW, ICAS or ACCA qualified with a strong technical reporting background in practice or industry.
It would be advantageous to have experience in growing SMEs and/or UK divisions of multinational groups, though we would welcome applications from all walks of life with the right skill set.
