An established organisation in North Birmingham has recently approached Mitchell Adam for assistance with their search for an ambitious and enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join their talented finance department. This organisation is based in the retail sector and provides a fantastic opportunity for an up and coming individual to develop their experience and take on senior responsibilities. This organisation understands the importance of a work-life balance, and ensure their employees are able to work in a hybrid working style once they finish their probationary period. This organisation are looking to assist their team achieve their career objectives and subsequently provide a study support package for those looking to complete their ACCA or CIMA qualifications.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be working directly with a Management Accountant who will be able to oversee your tasks and assist you when needed. You will be taking on responsibilities such as posting journals including accruals and prepayments, completing reconciliation's on the bank and balance sheet, and working on the P&L. This role has a clear progression plan where you can become an Assistant Management Accountant and then potentially a Management Accountant, depending on your progress in your role.

Skills Required
  • To have experience posting journals such as accruals and prepayments and to have experience completing reconciliations on the balance sheet.
  • To be confident and charismatic, as in this role you will be interacting with a wide range of individuals from inside and outside the organisation.
  • To be either currently studying for your ACCA or CIMA qualification, or to have a strong desire to start your studies in either qualification.
  • To have a strong work ethic. This organisation provides some fantastic opportunities which can be achieved by someone who is keen to progress.
