We are currently working with a really exciting, world-wide business with a head office in Birmingham with some junior recruitment! We are looking to recruit for a Trainee Accounts Assistant, ideally for this role we are looking for someone who has roughly 6-12 months of finance experience from either an apprenticeship or from a placement year alongside their university studies.

The role is currently a 6 months contract, however the manager has said if she brings someone into the team that they are think is fantastic, there is no way they are letting them go, so there is very much a chance that this could lead into a permanent job opportunity for the right person!

Due to the contract nature of this role we are ideally looking for people who are immediately available or on a short notice period.

Key responsibilities:

  • Processing invoices within the purchase ledger team.
  • Raising invoices within the sales ledger team.
  • Assisting with reconciliation tasks, including bank reconciliations.
  • Resolving finance queries in a timely manner, utisling excel to do so.
  • When reconciling the bank statements, allocating the incoming cash to outstanding sales invoices.
  • Reconciling credit card statements.
  • Processing expense requests for the business.
  • Other ad-hoc support such as journal postings at month end.

Candidate Attributes and Skills:

  • Have some kind of relevant qualification (such as AAT or a relevant degree), or be currently studying towards one.
  • Have previous finance experience, roughly 6-12 months minimum, ideally from an apprenticeship or placement year through university.
  • Be immediately available or on a short notice period and be able to start quickly.
  • Be an eager learner, someone who is eager to make the most of this opportunity and use it to kick start your career.
