The Role: Design Engineer
As Design Engineer, you will take on responsibility and autonomy for designing innovative systems and sub-systems as part of major customer projects within the broader engineering team. This role offers a dynamic, hands-on team environment where you will see your work come to life within 4-12 months, creating measurable impact in high-profile venues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently produce detailed specifications, work schedules, and documentation for electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
- Create high-quality CAD drawings and review and refine complex designs.
- Solve technical challenges through engineering calculations and data analysis.
- Work within a team focusing on one or more disciplines, such as:
- WiFi, Ethernet, and IP communications.
- Audio and voice alarms.
- CCTV, video, and display systems.
- DC microgrid distribution and stored energy.
- Optical fibre.
- Bespoke equipment containment.
- Conduct site surveys and gather essential data for project delivery.
- Provide hands-on support during commissioning, working collaboratively with field teams or remotely analysing and documenting results.
About You:
- HNC, HND, Level 4/5 NVQ, or degree in an engineering, scientific, or mathematical field.
- 3-7 years of experience in an engineering environment, with exposure to fieldwork, design, or related roles. Chartered status , or working towards chartered status is desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates adaptability and a methodical approach, with an eye for detail.
- Comfortable taking on greater autonomy and managing your workload within a supportive team environment.
