What You Will Do:
  • Lead the mechanical design of special purpose machines and automation using Solidworks, balancing innovation with cost-effectiveness.
  • Engage directly with clients, attending design handover and kickoff meetings to ensure project requirements are meticulously understood and met.
  • Conduct comprehensive design reviews, both internally and with clients, to refine and perfect machinery designs.
  • Develop detailed 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings, alongside creating a bill of materials and build folder for the shop floor.
  • Support the build process, resolving any design-related issues and designing alternative solutions during the machine development phase.
  • Prepare essential documentation, including operation and maintenance manuals, and ensure compliance with CE regulations.
What You Will Bring:
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automation or special-purpose machinery sectors.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and a strong understanding of GD&T in custom machined parts and fabrications.
  • Knowledge of electric and pneumatic actuators, vacuum or mechanical grippers, and sensors for part detection and quality checks.
  • Familiarity with machine guarding, operator safety standards, and design risk assessments.
  • A basic understanding of control elements like solenoids, PLC, and HMI is advantageous.
