Are you a Graduate Structural Engineer with 2-3 years of experience looking to take on an exciting new challenge?
Our client is currently seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our successful team in Birmingham. In this role, you'll have the chance to work on a diverse range of projects that will help you expand your skills and further your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply your knowledge of structural analysis and design across various engineering materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, timber, and more, alongside soils, foundations, and drainage systems.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and reports with guidance from a Senior Engineer, ensuring the work is in a clear, reviewable format for team checks.
- Apply relevant codes and standards, including Eurocodes, British Standards, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, and other industry-specific guidelines.
- Support Senior Engineers throughout the project lifecycle, contributing to design development from start to finish.
- Create hand-drawn sketches and annotations when required, helping to visualize design concepts.
- Participate in site investigations, working under supervision as necessary, to ensure designs are fit for purpose.
- Collaborate with your team, clients, and other professionals in the construction industry, maintaining clear communication throughout the project process.
- Attend meetings with clients and project partners as needed, ensuring alignment and smooth coordination.
- Keep up with your professional development by meeting the IPD/CPD requirements for Graduate Membership of the IStructE and/or ICE.
- Work towards achieving Chartership with the full support of your mentor and team, following a structured development plan.
Software Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla, and Revit.
Qualifications:
- A BEng/MEng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering (or a related field) from a JBM-accredited program.
- If not already completed, successfully complete the IStructE Certificate of Structural Behaviour.
