CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - RESIDENTIAL (HIGHRISE)
BIRMINGHAM

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Construction Manager with high-rise residential experience to join a dynamic and privately owned residential developer based in Birmingham City Centre. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading multiple projects one of which will be a flagship scheme in the Midlands from inception to completion.


Key Responsibilities as the Construction Manager:

  • Lead the full life cycle of high-rise residential projects, managing schemes from design through to successful delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial and development teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Oversee project planning, design, and delivery, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Manage and maintain the Building Control regime for higher-risk buildings, in compliance with Gateway standards and regulations.
  • Ensure all stages of the construction process, from design to final handover, meet the required quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement rigorous project management processes and targeted strategies to drive success.
  • Regularly update key stakeholders on project progress, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum.

The successful Construction Manager will have the following Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager within high-rise residential developments (preferably over 20 stories).
  • In-depth knowledge of the Building Control regime for higher-risk buildings (Gateway process).
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, project management, or a related field.
