We are seeking a skilled Installation Engineer to join our client’s team, specializing in the fitting and integration of safety and control systems onto heavy plant machinery. This role is ideal for engineers with experience installing machine control, telematics, or safety systems such as Leica, Trimble, GKD, Prolec, or similar technologies.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and calibrate safety, monitoring, and control systems on a variety of heavy plant and construction machinery.
- Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and fault resolution to ensure optimal functionality.
- Work closely with plant operators and site teams to ensure correct system setup and compliance.
- Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of installed systems when required.
- Provide training and technical support to operators on the correct use of installed equipment.
- Maintain accurate installation records and complete required documentation.
- Travel to client sites across the Midlands for on-site installations and support.
- Experience installing machine control systems, telematics, or electronic control units (ECUs) on plant machinery, HGVs, or construction equipment.
- Understanding of hydraulics and electrical systems in heavy plant or construction equipment.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow technical installation manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Full UK driving license (essential, as travel is required).
- CSCS card or willingness to obtain one (preferred).
