Carrington West are pleased to be working with a leading, multi-disciplinary private consultancy with a strong presence in the Birmingham region. As they continue to grow and expand their services, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as an Associate Director in Town Planning.
As an Associate Director in Town Planning, you will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping our planning division. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction, managing a talented team, and overseeing a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to make a significant impact within a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Town Planning department, aligning it with the overall business goals and objectives.
Project Management: Lead a diverse portfolio of planning projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Team Management: Mentor, manage, and inspire a team of planning professionals, fostering their growth and development within the organization.
Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations to deliver exceptional service and exceed their requirements.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in planning legislation, policies, and regulations, ensuring all projects adhere to local and national planning guidelines.
Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets and financial performance, working to optimize profitability while maintaining client satisfaction.
Business Development: Identify opportunities for business growth and actively contribute to winning new projects and clients.
Qualifications:
·Bachelor's or Master's degree in Town Planning, Urban Design, or a related field.
·Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
·Proven track record in town planning, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role.
·Strong knowledge of UK planning regulations and local Birmingham planning policies.
·Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
·Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
·Adept at project management, including financial oversight and resource allocation.
·Business development acumen and a network within the Birmingham planning community is highly desirable.
