Opportunity:

Our client is a major multidisciplinary firm looking to bring in a new Associate Director to manage and lead teams of ecologists on a wide variety of large-scale, complex projects across an array of sectors within the UK. This Associate Director role is perfect for someone who enjoys mentoring junior team members and interacting with clients, excelling at developing relationships and understanding their needs. The client is committed to ignoring post codes and being as accommodating as possible, meaning you can work out of any one of their eleven existing UK offices on a flexible basis.

Responsibility:

As an Associate Director of Ecology, your responsibilities will be centred around interacting with clients, planning ecological works and undertaking leadership roles. You will be expected to support the requirements of various clients, utilising company resources as necessary to do so, create and carry out ecological mitigation strategies, design and lead various ecological surveys and review both the reports produced from the survey results and any license applications. On top of this, you will need to be able to win work for the business, actively engage across disciplines within the company and mentor other staff members to encourage their own development.

Requirements:

To be considered for this Associate Director role, the following should be met:

  • Be a Chartered member of a relevant professional body
  • Have at least 10 years of experience within ecological consulting
  • Possess a strong understanding of various survey & assessments including UKHabs, Habitat Condition Assessments and BNG assessments. An understanding of DEFRA is also desirable
  • Experience with taking on project management and technical lead roles on a variety of projects

Desirable traits include:

  • A background in Nature-based Solutions or complex bat impact assessments
  • Experience working on NSIPs and a familiarity with the DCO process
  • Possession of Protected Species Licenses - particularly Bat Licenses
