Job Purpose

To drive commercial value for the end consumer and support the effective delivery of projects. This role is crucial for decarbonising Europe and leading cost-effective strategies globally. The incumbent will lead the commercial transformation to ensure the Strategic Infrastructure (SI) is equipped to overcome challenges and landscape changes, enabling rapid grid development and delivering value for both consumers and shareholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with onshore and offshore commercial teams to project manage the implementation of commercial transformation for Strategic Infrastructure.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, utilising various communication channels and materials to coordinate activities and ensure successful buy-in and implementation.
  • Lead and collaborate with stakeholders, including external Enterprise and JV partners, in the implementation of commercial strategy.
  • Develop a holistic view of all commercial activities across the offshore portfolio, ensuring efficient and coordinated negotiations, identification of capabilities, and resource deployment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A self-sufficient individual who can operate independently both internally and externally.
  • Experienced in project management, with a desire to apply project management techniques and best practises in a changing commercial environment.
  • Open to new ideas and approaches, and willing to go beyond the role profile to drive commercial value.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment and procurement, project management, and risk analysis within the Utilities industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contract, procurement, and supply chain advantageous.
  • Proven experience in business change management, including process and organisational design transformation.
  • Project management ability certified by APM, Prince2, or similar accreditation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a track record in leading c-suite engagements for collaboration and change.
  • Professional commercial qualifications such as MCIPS or MRICS and understanding of major contract frameworks.
  • Understanding of the energy sector or comparable experience in infrastructure/construction delivery.
  • Project/Programme management accreditation.
