A leading, reputable provider of medical engineering services is seeking a site-based Biomedical Engineer to work within the EBME department of a busy private healthcare in the Birmingham area.

Having grown to become one of the most successful providers of medical engineering services in the UK, they are able to offer excellent progression and development opportunities.

Job outline:

As the Biomedical Engineer, you will be required to carry out service, maintenance, repair and fault finding on a range of low to high risk medical equipment such as diathermies, defibrillators, infusion devices, syringe drivers, ECG's, patient monitors, pulse oximeters etc. (In-house and OEM training can be provided where required).

Working hours are Monday -Friday (37.5hrs).

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on medical equipment as per manufacturer's guidelines
  • Complete repairs as required on medical equipment as per manufacturer's guidelines
  • Complete all associated administrative work
  • Provide customer support when required
  • Maintain service documentation
  • Maintain tools and test equipment
  • Maintain safe working practices within the hospital environment


Experience/skills required:

  • Prior experience as a EBME Engineer, Medical Engineer, Clinical Engineer, Biomedical Engineer or Field Service Engineer, testing, servicing or repairing medical devices.
  • It is essential you have maintained and repaired, diathermies, patient monitors, infusion pumps and defibrillators
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK (UK passport or current work visa)
