Are you a dedicated accounts professional with a passion for bookkeeping. Our client, a company managing a range of hospitality businesses in Birmingham City Centre, is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team! As the Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in handling all bookkeeping duties for their various businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain finances for multiple businesses, ensuring accurate data input into accounting software (Sage)
  • Issue and pay invoices and create detailed financial reports for managers and owners.
  • Oversee cash flow management, financial forecasts, budgeting, and expense tracking.
  • Conduct cost reviews, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare profit and loss statements for month-end and year-end.
  • Assist with HR tasks such as policy reviews, staff meetings, and recruitment.
  • Monitor employee satisfaction and assist with fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers regarding financial matters

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practises
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
