We are currently seeking a School Caretaker to join our team in a Secondary School based in Aston starting in January 2025. This position offers various shift patterns to accommodate both part-time and full-time availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the school premises are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Carry out regular inspections of the building and grounds, addressing any issues promptly.
- Oversee the security of the premises, including locking and unlocking facilities as needed.
- Assist with setup and breakdown for school events and activities.
- Manage minor repairs and maintenance tasks, reporting larger issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including gardening and general upkeep of playgrounds and fields.
- Support the school's health and safety policies and ensure compliance with regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, preferably within a school environment.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform manual tasks and operate cleaning and maintenance equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintenance tasks.
