Job Title: Minibus Driver
Location: Kings Norton
Salary: £13.24 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week (paid for 25 hours)
Start Date: Immediate
Shifts:
- Monday to Thursday: Split shift 7:00 am - 9:00 am and 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
- Friday: Split shift 7:00 am - 9:00 am and 2:15 pm - 4:15 pm
About the Role:SMART Education is currently recruiting for a Minibus Driver on behalf of a well-established special school in Kings Norton. The school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children and young adults with special educational needs. This role offers an opportunity to play a vital part in supporting students' day-to-day routines by ensuring safe and reliable transport services.
Essential Qualifications:
- MIDAS training certification
- Proven experience driving larger vehicles, such as vans and minibuses
- Strong understanding of basic vehicle safety protocols
- Experience driving minibuses in a school setting

- Flexibility to manage assigned shifts
- Strong organisational skills to maintain accurate administrative records
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Clear and effective communication skills in English, essential for interactions with parents, students, colleagues, and the wider community
Desired Qualities:
- Enthusiasm for additional training opportunities
- Willingness to maintain MIDAS certification during employment
- Participation in school-provided training, including relevant MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression) training
- Previous experience in Advanced Driver Training
Requirements:
- Valid category D1 driving license with no more than six penalty points
- Commitment to ongoing relevant training
- Completed Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service)
