Our client has a very exciting opportunity to join the UK's leading and largest firm of Patent and Trade Mark attorneys as a Real Estate and Facilities Manager. This role is crucial in ensuring that their property within Birmingham is fit for purpose, cost-effective, and provides an optimal work environment.
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum
Day-to-day of the role:
- For the first few weeks only: Assist with an office move - act as the first point of contact for the building management team, overseeing maintenance and seeking the best deals from suppliers and ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain effective Health & Safety processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all documentation related to the firm’s property portfolio.
- Ensure timely and correct payments of rent, service charges, and business rates.
- Regularly liaise with service charge advisors to ensure value for money from landlords and their agents.
- Handle rent reviews to secure the best possible terms and monitor business rates, challenging them when appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with local office management to ensure office spaces are fit for purpose and discuss potential improvements.
- Manage all lease-related events, including notifications to relevant teams.
- Oversee the firm’s archival storage and act as the main contact for all property-related legal matters.
The successful candidate:
- Proven property management and facilities experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Commercial Office experience
- Knowledge of Lease changes
- Strong stakeholder management and Project management experience
- Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely training.
- Basic first aid knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage workload independently.
