A large event/arena company based in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Head of Facilities to lead operational management and customer service projects for their Arenas. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, project management skills, and extensive experience in facilities management, with the opportunity to make a significant impact on world-class venues.

  • Hybrid working, although this would be mainly site based role due to nature of role

Key responsibilities of Head of Facilities:

  • Serve as the lead contact for Group FM Contract Managers, overseeing hard and soft service delivery within the Arenas.
  • Prioritise building issues and ensure performance meets operational standards.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of the Operations team.
  • Drive improvements in Arena Accessibility based on legislative requirements, best practices, and customer feedback.
  • Attend events and shows to monitor venue performance and implement improvements based on customer and team feedback.
  • Attend venue update meetings, tracking service delivery, compliance works, and energy consumption.
  • Manage financial expenditures related to small works, security, cleaning, estates, and other venue projects.
  • Work with the Operations Director to identify key CAPEX requirements and lead the development of business cases for significant capital projects.
  •  Lead sustainability initiatives, driving energy efficiencies and environmental improvements.

Qualifications and skills required of Head of Facilities

  • Relevant qualifications, ideally a Facilities Management degree or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership and project management experience, with a focus on Facilities and Maintenance.
  • Strong experience in managing multiple stakeholders, ensuring all parties are aligned and working towards operational excellence.
  • Health and Safety qualifications, including NEBOSH General Certificate and NEBOSH Fire Certificate.
