Location: BirminghamContract: 6 monthsHays is partnering with a local council to recruit an operational Manager to oversee and develop the Council's Public Leisure Facility and Hubs. This role focusses on setting and achieving operational standards and performance goals, including maximising participation, customer satisfaction, and income generation.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Lead the operational management of the Council's Public Leisure Facility and Hubs, driving continuous service delivery and performance improvement towards a "best-in-class" standard.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Develop an organisational culture focused on achieving excellence in customer service, including developing and managing mechanisms to gather and respond to feedback.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all applicable health and safety national regulations and local policies are achieved, providing a safe environment at the Centres and Hubs.
  • Facility Maintenance: Manage the in-house Technical Services Team to ensure all wellbeing facilities are maintained to an acceptable standard.
  • Programme Support: Support the delivery of the Be Active programme in liaison with the Wellbeing Programme Manager.
  • Resource Maximisation: Identify and pursue opportunities to maximise resources available to the Wellbeing Centres and Hubs and increase participation.
  • Financial Management: Ensure effective financial management is exercised over budgets.Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably within public leisure facilities or similar environments.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
