The successful Sales Engineer / Sales Manager / Area Sales Manager will be responsible for business development with major customers across the UK, based out of their office in Birmingham. You must live 30 minutes from Birmingham centre.
The ideal Sales Engineer / Sales Manager / Area Sales Manager will ideally a strong background in proposing and selling automation solutions, within an automation / capital equipment environment.
They would also consider an Application Engineer with Industrial Automation experience who is looking to move their technical skill set into a Automation Solutions Sales role.

Sales Engineer / Sales Manager / Area Sales Manager Role
- Build strong customer relationships, proactively identify business opportunities and drive opportunities to close though telephone (cold calling), video and in person meetings / presentations.
- Preparing customer proposals, negotiation of pricing, contractual terms and payment arrangements with customers (including suppliers when necessary).
- Work closely with the existing equipment sales and operations teams.
- Effectively manage customer and supplier issues, liaising with the relevant internal & external contacts to find resolution.
- Actively seek out market and competitor intelligence.
- Maintain the up-to-date status and integrity of CRM data relating to the projects and customers.
- Covering UK wide and some international travel.
- Experienced sales engineering professional eager to develop career and having a proven track record of successfully conceptualising, proposing and selling automation solutions, ideally gained within an automation / capital equipment environment.
- New business focused, with the ability to generate own leads of enquiry, making initial contact with new potential customers through networking, cold calling or through social media.
- Have an appreciation of capital equipment costs for automated machines and robotic system projects
- Experience of Automation applications with an ability to 2D draw or 3D CAD model concepts within Automotive, Aerospace and Medical end user market sectors.
- Highly organised and capable of planning, and prioritising workload
- A self-starter, effective working alone and as part of a team
- Experience of adhering to a structured sales process, pipeline management and CRM systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A full UK driver's licence is needed. Must be within 30 minutes of Birmingham.
