IT Security & Audit Officer required for a leading client based in Birmingham. My client is currently seeking a IT Security & Audit Officer to come on board to maintain and enhance IT security standards (ISO 27001), policies, and procedures, collaborating with design teams and supporting the IT Security and Risk Manager in defining principles for a future-focused IT security architecture that safeguards client information systems and networks against cyber-attacks, intrusions, malware, and other threats.

Key skills and responsibilities,

  • Previous IT Security & Audit Officer experience
  • Assist in executing the technical security roadmap for the business, covering elements such as anti-malware, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS), and implement suitable technical controls.
  • Support the evaluation of new technologies by offering advice and guidance to project teams.
  • Continuously maintain and advance security tools and technologies to ensure alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Exhibits comprehensive knowledge of security principles, methodologies, and frameworks such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
  • Possesses or is actively pursuing a security certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM) and has a strong understanding of ISO 27001, Cobit 5, ITIL, or other IT best practice frameworks.
  • Demonstrates solid knowledge of the security marketplace, including products, capabilities, and the integration of various security solutions.
  • Has experience with cloud hosting technologies (Azure) and a deep understanding of related security management controls, including endpoint protection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS), legal hold, and rights management.
  • Experienced in developing IT security processes and procedures.
