Highway Care is a leading supplier of mobile traffic products. We are seeking a talented and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The role will be to develop and grow revenue through product and service supply, within the Highways sector.

This exciting role will require the post holder to work closely with our specialist tested range of mobile traffic products which can be found outlined throughout this website. Working closely with both well established and newly identified clients to aid the strategic growth of the business.

The role has been developed to cover product sales through face to face interaction with existing and new customers throughout the UK.

Permanent, full-time, hybrid role - UK wide

£45k-50k base salary, pension contribution, car/ car allowance and competitive bonus structure

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business sales in line with company growth targets.
  • To develop new commercial relationships with key decision makers and Procurement Teams.
  • Conduct 'lunch and learn presentations’, demonstrating features / benefits of products.
  • Produce sales quotations and commercial offer in line with product portfolio.
  • Collate and assist revenue for monthly forecasting.
  • Provide technical solutions for clients through collaboration with the Applications Team.
  • Maintain company CRM system with up-to-date records, including leads and new opportunities.
  • In collaboration with Marketing, provide technical guidance for purpose of literature and targeted campaigns.
  • Attend customer meetings, trade shows and exhibitions, where necessary, to promote product and services.

Essential Skills, Competencies, Qualifications and Behaviours

Essential:

  • Previous product sales experience, with a consultative technical sales approach
  • Construction and / or Civil engineering experience.
  • Previous product sales experience, with a consultative technical sales approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong IT and Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint) expertise.
  • Demonstrable organisational skills.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Chapter 8 (Traffic Safety Measures and Signs for Road Works).
  • Knowledge of CD 378 (Impact Test and Assessment Criteria for Truck Mounted Attenuators).
  • Understanding of the Highways or civil engineering industry.
  • 3+ years in BDM role (construction / highways).
  • Presentation skills / public speaking (internal / external).
  • CRM experience, Sage (or equivalent).
  • HNC/ HND in engineering, or equivalent experience of engineering sales.
