My Client, a global leader in formwork, scaffolding, and shoring systems, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to join their UK team.
This exciting role is pivotal in setting the direction for scaffolding, access, and shoring solutions, supporting the UK business in securing key projects, and leading the evolution of their offerings to meet the ever-changing needs of the construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Set and drive the strategic sales direction for scaffolding, access, and shoring within the UK construction market.
- Project Development: Identify target projects early, developing tailored solutions for scaffolding opportunities before projects are awarded.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, ensuring long-term satisfaction and loyalty.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct research to identify emerging market trends and potential new customers within the scaffolding sector.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (logistics, operations, technical teams) to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services.
- Sales Targeting: Actively target and secure new business opportunities, meeting individual and team sales targets.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations, pricing, and terms with clients to secure profitable deals.
- Training & Development: Develop training opportunities for their product, fostering market share growth.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Manage forecasting and budgets, providing regular updates to senior management.
Professional Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in strategic marketing and sales in the construction industry, particularly within scaffolding, access, and shoring systems.
- Skills: High technical understanding of shoring systems and scaffolding products; proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and CRM tools.
- Qualifications: An engineering qualification is desirable. Sales experience in scaffolding or related sectors is essential.
- Personal Attributes: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently with a proactive approach.
- Other: A full UK driving license and flexibility to travel (domestic and international (typically within Europe)) are essential.

- Sales Experience: Demonstrated success in both new business generation and account management.

- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the UK construction industry, particularly in scaffolding and access systems.

- Results-Oriented: Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Relevant UK experience. Substantial UK experience in the Formwork/Scaffolding/Shoring/Temporary Works industry
