The professional procurement category manager has total ownership to identify total cost of acquisition opportunities throughout the whole of this organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for indirect categories, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supplier relationship management.
- Effectively manage multiple procurement projects
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to ensure a diverse and competitive supply base.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to optimise terms and conditions while minimising risks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and align procurement activities with business objectives.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Data management and analysis
- Provide regular reporting and analysis on procurement performance, including cost savings, supplier performance, and risk management
Experience
- Strong knowledge of indirect procurement categories
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPM) is preferred.
